African Elegance

An African art exhibition fueled with the intention to promote pride and prominence toward the ancestry and heritage of New Orleanians through grace and craftsmanship. Jewelry, royal possessions, and prestige are featured objects from the Democratic Republic of Congo that have been selected from the Southern University at New Orleans African Art Collection by Master of Arts in Museum Studies degree candidate Michael Brown. On display in the African-American Resource Center, located on the second floor, in the City of New Orleans Main Public Library, 291 Loyola Ave. from July 18, 2012 to November 11.
