Founded in 1938, the Corsendonk monks famously brewed beer as a contemplative practice. After Austrian Emperor Joseph II shut down the Priory of Corsendonk in 1784, brewing of Corsendonk beer changed hands over the course of a century. Onwards from 1982 Corsendonk beer regained fame. The simplicity of its packaging acts as an emblem in relation to the Middle Aged Corsendonk’s rich past.
Since in 1998, released by Brouwerij Corsendonk (Oud, Belgium) as a Christmas Ale, this Belgian style Strong Dark Ale becomes highly anticipated as soon as the weather turns cold.
